Lake Cowichan RCMP investigate two Halloween vehicle fires

Lake Cowichan RCMP are investigating two suspicious vehicle fires reported early Oct. 31.

Police said they responded just before 1:30 a.m. to a vehicle fire on Johnson Place, where a Ford F-350 was found damaged by the flames.

While investigating, officers were called to a second fire in the 140 block of Berar Road, where a Toyota Tacoma had also burned.

The vehicles were about 2.5 kilometres apart.

“Due to the proximity and the time of the fires, these two incidents are considered suspicious and are currently being investigated,” Lake Cowichan RCMP said.

Anyone with information, including video surveillance footage, is asked to contact Lake Cowichan RCMP.
