North Cowichan council to consider two temporary use permits for winter shelters

North Cowichan council will consider two temporary-use permits for winter shelters at its meeting later this month.

One permit would allow an extreme weather shelter to operate overnight at 9806 Willow St., from 8:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., until April 30, 2027.

The second would allow a 24-hour winter shelter to operate seven days a week in the annex building at 2652 James St. until May 14, 2027.

Council will consider both permits at its Nov. 18 meeting, which begins at 5 p.m. at Municipal Hall.

Anyone wishing to comment must submit written feedback by 3 p.m. that day. Submissions can be emailed, delivered in person or mailed to the municipality.
