Duncan mayor joins Provincal advisory council

Three new members have been appointed to BC’s Climate Solutions Council, and one of them is from right here in the Cowichan Valley.

Duncan Mayor Michelle Staples will join the council that gives advice to the government on climate action and oversees the implementation of the Clean BC plan.

The plan is a bid by the province to lower carbon emissions by 40% by 2023 through rebates on clean tech, building green economies, and restoring coastal habitats.

The council was created in 2020 and provides a yearly report on the current state of climate action in the province.
