Update: Cowichan Tribes boil water advisory remains active, water service restored

Some areas of Cowichan Tribes remain under a precautionary boil water advisory, although residents affected by the outage have had water service restored.

The advisory was issued Sunday as crews worked to repair a water main break.

Until further notice, water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, bathing babies or any other form of consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

Cowichan Tribes said sampling and testing began Tuesday and will take at least two days to complete.
