Duncan Cowichan Chamber names Shaun Mann as new president

The Duncan Cowichan Chamber of Commerce has a new president.

The chamber said Shaun Mann of BFL CANADA has taken the reins from outgoing president David van Deventer.

Mann is a lifelong Cowichan Valley resident and has more than 16 years of experience in commercial insurance.

He has also been involved with local organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cowichan Valley, where he served as chair. Mann has served as the chamber’s 1st vice-president since 2023.

“Shaun understands that a strong business community is built on relationships, collaboration, and a willingness to show up for one another,” said chamber executive director James Radke. “His knowledge of the business community, his longstanding commitment to the Cowichan Valley, and his passion for supporting local businesses make him an excellent choice to lead the Chamber.”

The chamber said Mann’s tenure begins as the organization focuses on supporting local businesses, strengthening economic development and ensuring the voice of Cowichan businesses is heard.
