Hydrant flushing to begin in Duncan Monday

’Tis the season for water system maintenance in Duncan.

The City of Duncan will carry out maintenance on its water system from Oct. 26 to Nov. 6, including extended periods of fire hydrant flushing and some overnight work.

“There are no expected shutdowns to the water system, however users may experience pressure fluctuations or periods of discolored water similar to those experienced during the annual system flushing that takes place each spring,” said a statement from the city.

Some residents may notice fluctuations in water pressure or discoloured water during the work.

If water becomes discoloured, the city recommends running a cold-water tap until it clears.
