Cowichan Tribes shoot down incinerator report

The Cowichan Tribes have shot down the notion that they are looking at using an incinerator to deal with waste management.

Cowichan Tribes’ Chief William Seymour says an unknown source released a flyer that stated a garbage plant project was on the verge of being given the green light.

Seymour says the Cowichan Tribes and council have explored various ideas that could provide long-term benefits to the community while also creating employment via sustainable eco-friendly avenues.

He adds, however, there is a lot of work to be done before anything concrete is finalized.
