CVRD Board Meeting Highlights

Two local groups presented to the Cowichan Valley Regional District at their regular board meeting on Wednesday.

First, the board got an update on progress from the Cowichan Green Community Society on their Farm Incubator Project.
The project was awarded a grant for 5-thousand dollars from the CVRD last August, and Executive Director of the Cowichan Green Community Judy Stafford says they are just weeks away from the project coming to life. The Society just needs some sunshine to get started.
Stafford says the incubator farm will be the only seed training farm in Canada.
The second delegation was from the Inclusive Leadership Cooperative – a local group that embraces and encourages diversity in the community and workplace.
The group wanted to share information about some of their programming and an upcoming fundraiser. Development Coordinator Georgia Collins shares an example of how inclusive leadership skills can be used in the work place.
For more information on what they do, visit the Inclusive Leadership Cooperative website.
