Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast voters head back to polls for B.C. Election

For the second time this month, British Columbians are heading to the polls to cast their ballots in an election.

Saturday is general voting day in the 2026 B.C. provincial election, with voters on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast choosing who will represent their ridings in the provincial Legislature.

Polling places are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific time. Advance voting ran from Oct. 16 to 21.

Free public transit is available in several Island communities to help people get to the polls, including Nanaimo, Campbell River, the Comox Valley and the Cowichan Valley. Some interregional routes are excluded.

Voters can check their assigned polling place through Elections B.C.’s online Where to Vote tool.

The election will determine who fills the province’s 93 seats in the Legislative Assembly.
