Thetis Island ferry service to be disrupted Wednesday

Travellers heading to or from Thetis Island will have to plan around three cancelled BC Ferries sailings on Wednesday.

The cancellations on the Chemainus-Penelakut Island-Thetis Island route are scheduled for Oct. 28 to allow for annual replacement of the vessel’s emergency evacuation slide system.

The cancelled sailings are the 12:30 p.m. departure from Chemainus, the 1:05 p.m. departure from Penelakut Island and the 1:30 p.m. departure from Thetis Island.

Regular service is scheduled to resume with the 2:15 p.m. departure from Chemainus.

Passengers are advised to check the BC Ferries website for the latest sailing information.
