No one was injured in a fire that engulfed a home yesterday afternoon.
One resident was in the home when the fire started, but was able to exit safely. North Cowichan Fire Chief Scott Hennings says crews were called to a structure fire on Highway 18 around 4:30pm yesterday.
Fire crews spent four and a half hours extinguishing the blaze and the home was a complete loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
