Workplace accident victim touring BC, sharing story with students

Michael Lovett lost his leg in a sawmill accident at just 18.

These days he helps WorkSafe BC by telling his story, and on Wednesday he took his message on workplace safety to some students in the province.

Lovett says most people already have a good sense of how dangerous some workplaces can be, but he says young people need to feel confident asking questions, and speaking out if they’re put in unsafe conditions on the job.

Lovett says even though workplace accidents are on the decline, there’s still more that can be done.
