Officials with the Nanaimo Ladysmith School District say the “hold and secure” at schools has been lifted.

Here’s what they’ve released on the incident

This morning, the district went into a district-wide hold and secure at 9 a.m. The hold and secure was lifted at 10:20 a.m.

• No specific location was mentioned in the threat.

• During a ‘hold and secure’, all entry doors are locked with no-one allowed in or out.
• This was not a lock-down. It was business as usual in our schools.
• Students are safest while in the school.
• During a ‘hold and secure’, we do not release any students until the ‘hold and secure’ is lifted.
