Crip Up The Kitchen Book Launch – In Conversation with Jules Sherred

May 20, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Duncan author and disability rights advocate Jules Sherred is publishing an important cookbook in May, Crip Up the Kitchen: Tools, Tips and Recipes for the Disabled Cook. In his first book, he takes on the most ableist room in the house: the kitchen. With 50 recipes that make use of three key tools—the electric pressure cooker, air fryer, and bread machine—Jules has set out to make the kitchen accessible and enjoyable. The methods are developed specifically for the disabled and neurodivergent cook, to make cooking at home inviting and accessible. If you’ve craved the economy and satisfaction of cooking at home but been turned off by the ableist approach of most cookbooks—this one’s for you!
Jules Sherred will be celebrating the publication of Crip Up the Kitchen at Duncan United Church, you can RSVP here. Books will be available for purchase at the event thanks to Volume One Bookstore.
