Long weekend ferry traffic already hitting major routes – it'll get busy for Gulf Islands too

BC Ferries is bracing for long weekend traffic.

It’s already started to build on major routes, and Deborah Marshall of BC Ferries says they’re also expecting a spike on the smaller routes serving the Gulf Islands, like Crofton – Vesuvius.

Marshall says it’s typically people off for one last weekend at their vacation homes.

Marshall says there aren’t any additional sailings for the minor routes, so travellers may be in for a wait.

And, if you’re looking to travel out of Nanaimo or Swartz Bay most reservations are already booked up.  Click here to check out the departure/arrival status for all BCF routes.
