North Cowichan’s South End Fire Department put out a blaze on Bell McKinnon Road after an explosion at a BC Hydro substation on Tuesday night.
Fire chief Scott Henning says it was caused by a piece of hydro equipment in the yard. He says there were no injuries and nobody lost power.
Henning says three tucks and 12 firefighters worked with hydro crews to take care of the fire.
