Holocaust survivors to address students
A three day Holocaust and Genocide Symposium is scheduled for Shawnigan Lake School.
Guest speakers and Holocaust survivors will speak to students, teachers, and members of the public.
The aim according to Albert Olson, Chair of the Shawnigan Lake Holocaust and Genocide symposium is to keep the discussion of genocide going so these crimes don’t happen again.
Olson says Dr. James Waller will be their keynote speaker. Waller is a professor at Keene State College in New Hampshire.
The symposium is open to the public and is free of charge. The first session is scheduled for today 9-12:30, followed by a second at 1:30 to 4:30 and the third is Friday morning from 9-12:30
