UPDATE:
A missing boater from Salt Spring Island has been found dead.
RCMP say the man’s body was found near Powder Island in Ganges Harbour on Tuesday afternoon.
His name has not been released.

Salt Spring Island RCMP and the Island Search and Rescue are looking for a man whose skiff capsized Monday in the harbour near Powder Island in the Ganges Harbour.
Police got a call around 8:15 in the evening that an unknown man and his dog were in a small skiff travelling towards one of the numerous boats moored in the harbour when witnesses saw the skiff capsize.
The dog was saved but the man has not yet been located despite efforts by Coast Guard vessels, an Eagle Eye Marine Vessel and a local vessel.
Salt Spring Island Search and Rescue are doing a ground search of the shore line today at a lower tide.
RCMP West Coast Marine and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team have also attended to assist in the recovery efforts.
