NDP Leader John Horgan will officially be sworn in as the 36th premier of British Columbia on Tuesday.
He is also set to announce his cabinet. Nanaimo North Cowichan MLA Doug Routley says he is excited to see who leader will choose to represent the province.
Routley says he and his colleagues were all interviewed by the leader for consideration. He says no one knows yet who will be appointed where.
While a BC cabinet is usually 16 to 20 people, the NDP have indicated they may add some portfolios including one on women’s equality and mental health.
One of the first orders of business will be to choose a speaker. Former speaker, Liberal M-L-A Steve Thomson resigned after the Liberal government fell.
