Purple air sensors up in the Valley

The season of wood smoke in the Cowichan Valley has begun.
Air quality can be poor during the fall and winter months because of fine particulate matter primarily from open burning and woodstove use.
The Cowichan Valley Regional District and partners have installed air quality sensors in neighbourhoods across the Cowichan region.
Senior Environmental Analyst with the CVRD, Keith Lawrence says the sensors are intended to build awareness for air quality, provide information on the distribution of wood smoke within our communities and identify opportunities to improve the air we breathe….
You can find a link to those sensors and more information about them at:  www.cvrd.bc.ca/air
