North Cowichan Council trying to hold tax increase to under 3%

The mayor of North Cowichan says there will be a tax increase in this year’s budget, but it’s too early to say how big.

Jon Lefebure says the results of the early budget meetings show it will be a challenge to stay under three per cent, because of several large projects on the books, and other changes.

Lefebure says another project that will have a significant impact on the budget is the plan to build a new police station in 2016-17.
