Island Health says flu season seems to have hit peak
According to the BC Centre for Disease Control we’ve passed the peak of flu season, although there’s still a lot of flu activity in the province.
Dr. Charmaine Enns is a medical heath officer with Island Health. She says the peak they’re seeing is for this season’s most common strain, H3N2 – a type of influenza A.
The BC CDC also says there’s been a record number of outbreaks at long term care facilities this flu season.
There’s just one right now in the Cowichan Valley; at Cerwydden Care in Duncan.
