Ladysmith could keep people out of parks at night to prevent vandalism

Ladysmith is considering a bylaw to keep people out of public parks at night.
Mayor Aaron Stone says Transfer Beach Park is already closed after hours, to help prevent vandalism.
Stone says the bylaw would provide some enforcement options.
But he says like many bylaws, it would be complaint-driven, so people using parks respectfully after hours probably wouldn’t be an issue.
The idea has been referred back to staff, who will draft up a report on some potential bylaw options.
