Chemianus Valley Museum renovations entering long, final stretch drive

A big makeover of the Chemainus Valley Museum is inching closer to completion.

Museum secretary Norma Greer says the renovations will cost over $700,000, however, they have received plenty of financial help so far through grants.

“We had a total of about $410,000 raised so far. We finished the second stage already which included everything in the outside area and we are now working on the final stage, which is the completion of the inside.”

Greer says the new-look museum could have its grand re-opening in the spring of 2016, which also marks its 25th anniversary.

However, she adds it’s tough to predict right now because money isn’t always available to have continues work.
